About the Author
Anne Cimon Anne Cimon is from Montreal, Quebec. She has recently published her fourth book "An Angel around the Corner- Un ange autour du coin" with Borealis Press. The collection reflects her bilingual heritage and spiritual quest. Anne has been writing seriously since the late seventies. She studied the craft with international poet Irving Layton at Concordia University. He remarked of her work: "She possesses the gift for the significant detail, the right word, and the most important element of poetry, surprise." Anne was living in Toronto when her first book "A Skin of Snow" appeared in 1981. Poems and a short novel explore the subject of love. Anne worked at the Longhouse Bookshop where she had the opportunity to learn more about Canadian literature and meet many authors. In 1985, she returned to Montreal and worked at the Westmount Library. She published her second volume "No Country for Women" with Mosaic Press in 1993. This collection spoke of her love for nature, and interest in inner and outer landscapes. In 1994, Anne was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. She moved to the village of Sutton in the Eastern Townships to help her recovery. Her third collection "All We Need - Tout ce qu'il faut" was published by Borealis Press in 2002. This was her first bilingual edition and the themes are loss and healing.
